I Need a Haircut

Really, I do. I haven't had a haircut since early November. Lauren used to cut my hair, for 2 years. I loved Lauren. She cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it, and she would tell me great stories, about her kids, her ex-husband, her girlfriend, her new house. But the salon where she works is about 45 minutes away from my house, so I decided if she ever quit or changed her hours, I'd find a new place.

In October, I had an appointment with Lauren, but then she left a message on my cell phone saying she wasn't working on Saturdays anymore. So, time to find a new salon. I asked around, and chose a place based on the recommendation of a neighbor. I could walk from my house, which was perfect.

When I got there, they had no record of the appointment I'd made 4 days before, but said they could "squeeze me in." I should have left right then, but I really needed a haircut, so I stayed. This girl Angela cut my hair, and she was basically silent the entire time. I didn't really like the cut when she was done, but I attributed that to all the products and blow-drying that she used. When I got home, I washed all that out, and realized, no, I actually hated the haircut. It's really hard to cut my hair wrong, since my hair is just straight. But Angela had done the opposite of what I asked for, and made my hair slightly longer in the back than in the front. I had no choice but to cut off the front of my hair with kitchen scissors. I'm sure it's uneven.

So, I haven't had a haircut because I'm not sure who to go to. Maybe if I have time I'll get Bonnie to cut it next week when I'm in New Orleans. Which, I realize, is only postponing the eventual hairdresser search, unless I become one of those girls who flys around the country for a haircut.
