Summertime in the City
It was really hot yesterday. I dressed myself in jeans. By the time I had walked the 3 blocks to the bus stop, I was hot and sweaty and decided that perhaps my plan of wearing long pants only on my vacation this summer probably wasn't the best idea I've ever had. Especially in Europe, where a lot of things aren't air conditioned, and I won't have a nice pool to jump into at the end of the day.
I don't really wear shorts, though, unless I'm at the gym or they're pajamas. I don't have any lighter weight pants or capris. I have skirts, but none really I'd want to wear day in, day out like that. So I stopped at H & M and then Hecht's on my way home yesterday. Tried on about 18 different things. Ended up buying one all cotton skirt that I think will work quite nicely. I've ordered another skirt, which should be arriving this week. I think I'll try to head out to Old Navy this weekend to look for capris. I tried on one pair yesterday that stopped right below my knee, and realized that is a really, really bad look on me. It makes me look shorter. Hopefully Old Navy will have a larger selection.
Also? My hair must be cut. I was debating if I should leave it longer so that I could pull it back into a pony tail while on the trip, but I can't take it anymore. I think as long as it's cut short enough so it's off the back of my neck I'll be happy.

Yes, as a fellow short person, capris are not good for us, which is unfortunate because they'd work well for this type of weather. I have one pair that I never wear...I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought them.
I think I like the ones that are almost like long pants, but not quite. just not the ones that stop right below your knee and look like long shorts. ugh. that looked horrible!!
