I love a parade
So, I've been in New Orleans now for about 48 hours, and I've been to 4 parades. I love Mardi Gras parades... the bands, the throws. I get all excited about catching good stuff (tonight I was all worked up about glow in the dark cups... I came home with 5). Parades where they don't throw things to (at) you are not really the same. I just don't get them. Apparently, I always felt this way. My mom told me when we first moved to Washington, when I was 4 1/2, they took us to a President's Day parade, and I told them it was a bad parade, since no one was throwing anything. How like me, to know exactly how things should be done and to express my displeasure when they're not done that way! I wonder if everyone's personality is so well formed at 4 going on 5.
Tomorrow night, 2 more parades. I'm just sad I have to leave Sunday morning. Frodo Baggins (aka Elijah Wood) is riding in Bacchus! I can't believe I'm missing the chance to add a doubloon caught off a hobbit's float to my celebrity doubloon collection (which currently stands at 1, which I caught from Luke Perry's float 4 years ago.)
