The month of concerts

My month of concerts has come to a close. No more shows until Aimee Mann in May.

Friday night was the Ben Lee show, and I completely loved it. There were 2 opening bands, and during the first one, Maria Taylor, Rebeccah and I watched Ben Lee watching them. He was standing off to the side of the stage, and we had a very clear view. The second opening act was Har Mar Superstar. We both hated him. I don't really know how to describe it, other than I found his lyrics offensive and Rebeccah described him as "vile."

Ben Lee was super great. I wonder, though, when I go to shows like that, how many people are there for the music, and how many people are there because they had nothing better to do and it cost $12 and it was a Friday night, or because their friend really wanted to go and didn't have anyone to go with. There were quite a few chatterboxes in the audience, so I must assume there were plenty of people who weren't there for the music. Anyway, Ben played all my favorite songs off his newest CD, Rebeccah found a seat off to the side, and we both left happy.
