and I'll say it again
I hate Safeway. I mean really. Check out that picture. I took it at 5:45 last night. Look how crowded that place is! I just wanted to pop in and buy some salad to go with my dinner, but it ended up being a 30 minute extravaganza. I was beginning to think I had missed a forecast for snow, but then I remembered it's like 60 degrees outside right now.

I love that you snapped a picture like that. There are so many times I think to myself "I wish I had a camera..."
The cool thing about my husbands work schedule is that we can go grocery shopping at odd times and avoid crowds.
That's why I love the camera phone! Plus, I can be somewhat stealth about taking pictures... I just flip open the phone like I'm going to talk, but secretly, I'm taking a picture.
I wish I could go shopping at odd times to avoid crowds. That is cool. I've also had groceries delivered which is super, but not that helpful if you just need like milk or lettuce or something.
I swear there are more people around Christmastime. Everyplace seems more crowded. Don't people have to buy groceries all year round?
Let it be a lesson to you - salad is for rabbits! :-)
I avoid supermarkets until there's no milk left. Then I do a big shop. I tried the groceries being delivered thing - but the delivery windows were a 2 hour block that I had to sit around and wait - I could go and do my own in less time than that.
Christmas Eve supermarketing is what amuses me. Everyone in the supermarket has their trolley piled up with stuff as if the stores will be closed for 2 weeks - not 1 or 2 days.
Amie, I'm with you. I too am an off peak shopper because of my schedule. If I'm going by myself, I go late afternoon after work. If I go with my boyfriend, we go after 8 at night. Works well.
Genevieve, it's hard when the only time you can go is after work! Especially if you just need something quick...it turns into quite the affair.
Paisley, yeah, the delivery window thing was annoying, but for me, it's worth it for a lot of groceries. I live in a 3rd floor walk up. It's worth it for someone else to carry them up! Also, parking near my house can be tricky, so sometimes I have to walk a little bit from the car to the apartment.
Katie, maybe more people are making Christmas cookies now?? I have no idea!
