Another Genevieve
I just had lunch with my friend Katherine, and our waitress's name was Genevieve. Although her name tag says Ginny. When we got the receipt, it said "Genevieve L" at the top, and I was confused. How did they know my name and middle initial before I gave them my credit card? And where's my last name? And then I realized Ginny was Genevieve L.

thanks! um, well, when I asked if she was Genevieve, she said yes, but that she goes by Ginny because Genevieve is too hard for other people. But that she prefers Genevieve.
Me personally, I don't care if it's too hard for other people -- they can learn!
Your name's not that hard to say...even my immigrant parents handle it very well. I always think of Ginny as being a nickname for Virginia...
Yes, I too think of Ginny as short for Virginia. (that's my aunt's name, in fact)
