My grandpa
My grandpa died yesterday. This is something that we were all anticipating but that doesn't make me feel much better.
This picture is the only one I have of him on the computer. It's from my cousin Katie's wedding last year. It's my grandparents, and all of their grandchildren. I am the one in pink.
I'm off tomorrow morning for Austin, where my grandparents have been living. My parents are already there. There will be a funeral in Austin this week, and then a memorial service in New Orleans around Christmas.

He and your grandma look so nice. It's pretty cool that there are so many grandchildren. Safe travels...I hope everything goes okay in Austin...
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I lost three grandparents in the last three years. Although each one was expected, I cannot imagine it would have been any more painful if they were not. My condolences....
Thank you all. Bridget, I'm sorry for your losses, too... three in three years is rough.
Sorry about your grandpa, it looks like he felt a behind a beautiful legacy.
thank you, Amie.
It's a sad thing when you lose a grandparent. Hope all goes well with your trip to Austin.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa. I'm glad you'll get to be with your family this week, though--take care of yourself on the trip.
Oh I'm so sorry, my dear. Grandparents are a wonderful thing, to be cherished whilst we have them, and impossible to replace when we lose them.
I have to apologize for my typo! I ment to say "left behind" not "felt" {blushing fiercly}
thanks, everyone. Amie, I didn't even notice the typo, no worries!
I'm so sorry to hear that. *hugs*
je suis vraiment desolee pour toi, je te souhaite beaucoup de courage a toi et ta famille pour traverser cette epreuve !
My condolences...losing a grandpa (or anyone for that manner) is never fun, especially when you are "far away."
thanks, everyone. I really appreciate your kind thoughts.
