Learn to Fly Again
Last night I went to a screening of an Israeli movie called Broken Wings. It's the story of a family living in Haifa, a mother and four kids. The mother leans on the oldest daughter too much to help with the younger kids, and the oldest daughter resents her for it. The family has had a tragedy in the recent past, and the mother and the older son especially have been affected by it, and are depressed. Something happens to the younger son, and the family begins to unravel even more. The movie was a very realistic look at family life and how different people deal with the same tragedies in different ways. I could relate to the oldest daughter a lot, even though the horrible things that have happened to her haven't happened to me. She was blaming herself for a lot of things that had gone wrong with her family and with her own life, even though they weren't her fault. So even though I cried through the second half of the movie, I'd recommend it.
