Hair today, Gone tomorrow
Sorry, I totally could not resist the title.
Despite Bridget's dire warning yesterday, I got my hair cut. I went in, and told Anna that if it was no longer going to be long enough to pull back into a pony, it all needed to be off my neck. She showed me how short that was, and I had a moment of "no! that's too short!" but then she convinced me that if she left it any longer, it was going to stick to my neck and there wasn't going to be anything I could do about it. So, rashly, I said, "OK, cut it all off." Anna triple checked that that was what I wanted, so I really must take complete responsibility myself.
It's a little too short. I don't think my hair has been this short since I was in the 5th grade and my mom made me cut it like a boy. It is cooler, I will admit. And I think I'm the only one who thinks it's too short -- I've already gotten several compliments from people at work (including one ADORABLE!) so maybe it will just take me some time to get used to it. And if not? My hair grows fast. I think in 2 weeks, it will be the length I want it to be, just in time for my trip.
I wanted to take pictures to post for you guys, but I take terrible self-portraits, so you'll just have to wait until I have some other pictures to post.

Ahh the good ol' boy haircut, my Mom insisted that the bowl cut she made me get for 3rd-5th grade was cute. The pictures say otherwise!
Hope you are growing to love the haircut!
Glad to hear yuu resisted the urge to go "G.I. Jane". Mine always ends up shorter than I anticipated. My idea of "an inch off" clearly is different than that of the woman doing the shearing!
at least you had the bowl cut, Molly. I had what my mom insisted was a "Dorothy Hamill" but was actually a standard boy cut... if I can ever scan pictures, I'll post my 5th grade picture. it's truly horrific.
and Bridget, yes, no shaving going on. I did know she was going to take about 3 inches off. I guess I just didn't realize what 3 inches actually looks like!
the boy cuts are traumatic, for sure. (although last night, my mom claims she doesn't remember this haircut. I told her to look at my 5th grade picture.)
Your new haircut looks awesome...super cute...and much cooler too!
thanks :-)
