The worst week ever

I had a really, really bad week last week. Numerous things happened that were bad, entirely too numerous to mention here. Sufficed to say that the week culminated in my car breaking down on Saturday. At least it had the decency to do it in front of a gas station with a service station. Apparently it needs a new alternator. Hopefully it will be ready today. I was housesitting in the suburbs this weekend, so I needed a car. I had to borrow my dad's, which is a standard transmission. Which I only sort of knew how to drive. I did a few practice laps around a parking lot, my dad proclaimed me good to go, and I took off. Surprisingly, given how bad the week was, I had no problems with the borrowed car, and in fact, I am now quite comfortable with driving that thing. I think that's a good thing -- you never know when there's going to be an emergency, and you'll have to drive something you don't normally drive.

Saturday was also the Sleater-Kinney show. There was a guy standing in front of us who had this recorder thing attached to his iPod. I didn't even know those existed, but Rebeccah said her husband has one, and he used it to record his grandmother talking about recipes (how cute!). Anyway, the guy was basically sticking the recorder out straight in front of him, and he got caught. It was all very COPS-like dramatic. (well, not really, there were no guns or anything, but it sounds cool.) The bouncer came over, and pulled the guy out of the crowd. Made him give him the recorder and erase the half a song he had recorded off the iPod. And then? Removed him from the club. Awesome. I've never actually seen anyone removed from a club before.

Sorry you had the worst week ever, hope that this one is off to a better start!

Ooh I have never seen anyone get kicked out of a show either, that sounds quite entertaining!

Oh no...I'm sorry you had such a crappy week last week. Very sorry to hear about the volvo. I can sympathize after my multiple overheating incidents a few weeks ago. Car stuff is never cheap. Here's to a short week and fun travel for both of us!
