No books?!?

No books allowed now on UK flights that are US-bound. Argh! Can you imagine? I feel so bad for the people stuck on those flights! I hope they figure something out soon for security, because without books, I'd rather fly to Paris and take the EuroStar to London. I'm sorry, the Hemispheres magazine that comes in your seat pocket just won't cut it for an 8 (or more!) hour flight.

no books? is that just a strategy to keep hand luggage to a minimum or do books actually pose an inherent danger? I suppose a spot of knitting would be out of the question as well. The inflight movies had better be pretty good. The world has gone mad.

P, I'm not sure - all I know is right now, you can only bring a clear plastic bag with your passport, your ticket, and your money (not even a wallet) on UK flights that are US-bound. Quel horreur. They will have to start inflight movies *right* when you sit down!

I would NEVER survive the flight without a book. I can barely sit for a two hour flight without a book. Air travel is really getting ridiculous. I mean, I understand taking precautions, but it is becoming a major hassle and no fun at all!
