Outdoor TV?

Yesterday I was walking down one of the main streets in my neighborhood (there are 2 main streets) and I noticed these guys trying to set up a tv in front of Safeway. Safeway has these soda machines outside, and they had unplugged the Coke machine and plugged the tv in. They had electricity, but no reception. They had bunny ears on the tv and they were trying to get something to come in, but I'm pretty sure they didn't have any success.

I think they were the guys who run a little stand in front of Safeway and sell tshirts and hats. (among other things, I'm sure.) I guess they were looking for a little entertainment while they sell their wares, but wouldn't a book be easier? Books are portable, and you don't have to worry about reception, or about getting in trouble for unplugging Safeway's Coke machine and stealing their electricity. Although, I will give them credit for trying. I wonder if they ever got anything to come in...
