Something good

I'm very happy to say that my undergraduate institution, Trinity University in San Antonio, will be accepting some undergrads from New Orleans area universities, including my law school institution, Tulane University. Of course, Trinity doesn't have a law school, but I am happy that Tulane undergrads won't lose a semester of school. This is the sort of thing that cannot be anticipated, and I'm glad that Trinity has been able to help in some way.

Manchester College, in Indiana, where my husband works, is also offering automatic admission to any student whose college was closed by the hurricane. Hopefully this is common.

I'm also getting more and more frustrated listening to the coverage of our government's slow and pathetic help. I'll write a letter, and I'm giving to the Red Cross--but if you know of other needs let me know.

That's great about your husband's college. I hope it is common as well.

Thanks for anything you can do, Katie. I know everyone appreciates it a lot!

yay for Maryland! It seems like schools will make it easy for students to go to school for a while wherever their families live, and that's great.

I know, I am amazed at how many schools are taking kids in without any administrative hassle, I think it is great!
