Lookie what I got!
I received a package from my no-longer Secret Secret Pal 6, Laurie.
This is the lovely lovely yarn that was in the package. I love the colors and the yarn is super soft! Now, what to make? It's lace weight yarn -- any suggestions?
And here's the whole package. There's a needle roll, a tape measure (hooray! I am always losing mine), a little cork board with cute tacks that she made, some fabulous note cards that she also made, the Loop-d-Loop book, and a needle card. I love it all.
In case you were wondering, I was Heather's Secret Pal. I think she liked the stuff I sent! Laurie didn't send me her blog address, so I can't link to her.
If you are a knitter, you can still sign up for Secret Pal 7. I requested to have a Secret Pal who doesn't live in the United States and to send to someone outside of the United States as well. I love the idea of getting stuff I can't find here.

I have the Loop-d-Loop book too! Lots of fun stuff in there - I've made the braided neckpiece (a bit fiddly, but pretty quick) and the corkscrew scarf (v. easy once you learn short rows). I'm tempted by the vest with the big cable down the front.
I don't know anything about knitting, but I really like the color of the yarn...very pretty!
That yarn is really pretty! Have you decided what you are going to make yet? I am no good with suggestions since my repertoire is usually limited to scarves (and an occasional baby hat)
Paisley, I flipped through the book, and the corkscrew scarf looked really fun! Glad to hear it is easy. I am in the mood for easy these days.
Jayne, thanks! I agree.
Molly, no, I haven't decided. Lace weight yarn is super thin, so I need something that is fairly small or I'll be working on it for the next 3 years.
You could jump on the "Branching Out" bandwagon, it's a reasonably rewarding pattern, but I'm not sure if it'd show off those beautiful colours to their fullest.
yeah, I thought about Branching out... I've done it before, though, for a gift, and I think I might like to try something new. But I do like the way Branching Out looks when finished. maybe I'll look for a new lace scarf pattern... thanks for the idea!
fun! I do a secret swap on one of my message boards.
