Shark Hunter

I had this idea today for a new TV show. It's about a shark hunter. See, there's this shark, right, and he keeps occasionally eating people on the beach. But he's really fast and smart, so he gets away every time. So they hire a professional shark hunter to catch him, but he keeps getting outwitted by the shark.

The shark hunter is also somewhat of a lady's man, but you still like him because he never hurts anyone's feelings. All the girls know what they're getting themselves in to. And of course, he's also in love with his childhood best friend, but she doesn't realize it.

He also has this niece, who's about 9 years old, played by Abigail Breslin. (that's the only casting I've got so far) She's super smart, and so she helps her uncle try to figure out what's going on in the shark's brain, so they can catch him. The niece's mom, the shark hunter's sister, is a single parent, so the shark hunter helps her out.

I think this could totally last at least a season! The shark is really, really clever, so it's not like he'll be caught right away. And also? If it gets dull, you can make the shark travel! Send him up to Atlantic City for an episode! And the shark hunter follows him, and maybe does a bit of gambling at the Trump Taj Mahal on the side.

What do you think?

I was never an animal show fan so I'm probably not qualified to comment. Are you envisioning this as a drama or a comedy? Hour? Half-hour?

I just hope that the shark has a Dharma logo on it and it leads the shark hunter to an encounter with The Others!

And every episode can start like Jaws, where they show somebody being attacked.

*snort* I like Molly's remark.
January's television here is basically just sport (tennis and cricket and the odd bit of golf) but they intersperse all the ad breaks with dozens of promos for the "new" (for Australia) seasons of Lost, Grey's, Ugly Betty, Housewives, Prison Break.... and we're still waiting on the final season of Alias (which I only watch to perve on Michael Vartan.... mmmmmm.....)

Paisley, I think it won't really be an animal show, but more about the hunter dude. I'm imagining an hour dramedy.

Molly, haha!

Amie, good idea!
