Hola, Mami

What should you do if you are walking home from the train, after having drunk two lavender margaritas (delish, btw) and some man says to you, "hola, Mami!" Me, figuring he is one of my neighbors, I say, "hi!" but what should you so? Really? Say nothing? Say, "hola, Papi!"? "hi"? yell something crazy, thereby attracting the attention of all the neighbors?

It's amazing what lavender margaritas will do to my thought process...

You should talk back. Unless he looked scary, in which case you should RUN! Usually Mami means "hottie" - right? At least, that's what I think.

It depends on your intentions...if you wanted to be friendly but not forward just stick with a harmless "hola" or "que paso" (no that is not a typo, it is common when referring to a male to slangily say "que paso" not the spanish grammatically correct "que pasa" that you learn in spanish classes) if you want to be forward then you can go with "hola papi" or if you want him to leave you alone but you feel the need to speak say "mamaguevo"
