R.I.P. Pink iPod Mini

My iPod mini died!

The battery wasn't holding a charge anymore. It will still play when connected to the electricity, or for about 20 minutes off the battery.
This weekend, I got the new, shiny blue Nano. I resisted buying a new one, but once it arrived (I ordered it from Apple) it was love at first sight.

Side by side. Look how much smaller then Nano is! The only thing I don't love so far is that the headphones get plugged in to the bottom of the Nano... I think I liked them better on the top, like with the Mini.

I do totally dig the color screen on the Nano, though.

And I got pressies!

You're lucky because my first iPod lasted only one year. It went into total system failure about two weeks after the one year warranty expired. Apple refused to do anything for me. The iPod ended up going into the garbage. I was so mad. I did end up getting a new one but I made sure to buy the extended warranty.

that is a true tragedy. I hope the new one has done better for you.

so how long did you ipod mini last? I've had mine (green) for about 16 months and it still seems to be going alright.
Nano next time - I can't get over how thin they are.

I think nearly 3 years? So I think it had a good run. You can do the whole battery replacement program, but for the price, I didn't want a refurbished iPod, and they don't make the minis anymore anyway. and I've heard the pink ones are hard to come by.

though I didn't like the pink nanos. too hot pink. that's why I got the blue nano, which is so so pretty.

I'm such a sucker for Apple's aesthetics.

I want one of the RED IPODs because Bono tells me they are cool. How sad is that. /hostessnic

I don't want your pink mini to die either! Let's all give a moment to wish Sarah's pink mini a long life.

(and I think my pink mini will continue to live on, but as the in-the-house iPod. the one that gets plugged in to mini speakers & electricity)

You should have gotten a RED one. Not because Bono says they are cool, or because the red is lovely, but because a portion of the proceeds goes to purchase medicine for mothers or children with HIV and AIDS in Africa. One IPod RED can keep a child alive for an entire year. Don't you watch Oprah?

No, I don't watch Oprah! And also, the red iPod came out the day AFTER I ordered mine, or I would've gotten it!
