Brussels is Nice
What a very creative title I've given this post! But it's true. The weather... lovely! It's spring. Apparently, if we had come last week (when we were supposed to have come) it was miserable, cold and wet. This week, it's sunny and the temperatures are delightful.
Last night, I went to dinner with my co-worker who is traveling with me. We had a recommendation from one of the people we're working with here for a good restaurant. We followed her directions, and walked to the street where the restaurant should have been. It wasn't there! We walked the whole street three times. (it was only 2 blocks long) Finally I declared we were just going in to the other place, where it looked like people were eating, so we did.
Ate dinner, which was good, and got the check. Saw the name of the place (there was no name on the outside of the building) and realized we were in the restaurant she had recommended!

Brussels in spring sounds fantastic (it was deepest darkest winter when I was there a few years ago). Make sure you have Belgian waffles some time during your trip - that's compulsory! And I seem to remember a little laneway somewhere near Grote Markt/Grand Place that had lots of yummy seafood restaurants (if you're into seafood).
Wow, the fates are in your favour. Perhaps the city finds you as "nice" as you find it.
