Interview Conducted by Nabbalicious

Nabbalicious interviewed me! Want to be interviewed yourself? Instructions at the bottom of my post on how to get your own questions from me.

1) Do you dream in French or English, or a mix?
Mostly English, but occasionally, French. The French pops up either when I've been speaking French all day, or when I'm dreaming about someone who I always speak French to. My sister also said I sometimes sleep-talk in French, but I can neither confirm nor deny this.

2) What is the best concert/rock show you've ever seen?
Ohhhh, this is a toughie! Let's see. One of my favorites was just a year or so ago, when Ben Lee was opening for Aimee Mann. The show in Baltimore, the one where I met Nabbalicious herself. Ben Lee's set was sort of off (that might have been the night he was a wee bit grumpy, if I am remembering correctly) but Aimee Mann was great, and she even played our request at the end! I made Erika raise her hand, Aimee called on her, and we got to hear "That's Just What you Are." Ben Lee at the Black Cat in 2005 was great, aside from the scary Har-Mar Superstar opener, which I think might have scarred Rebeccah for life. Ben Kweller at 9:30 in the fall was really good. Belle & Sebastian at 9:30 with New Pornographers last year was awesome. (Belle & Sebastian at Merriweather Post last summer? Not as awesome.)

3) If you weren't a lawyer, what would you like to do for a living instead?
Um, if someone else can figure this out, would you let me know, please? No, I kid. If someone would pay me to do this, what I'd love to do is be a travel writer. But not the kind who writes reviews. The kind who writes witty stories about her journeys. And gets paid for it.

4) What is your biggest regret?
That I went to law school? Actually, I can't really think of anything that I really, really regret. Sure, I've done some stupid things, but nothing I can really look back on with too much regret.

5) What is the best book you've ever read, and the worst?
Sweet baby Jesus, this is way too hard! There have been really bad books that I haven't even bothered to finish. And some books that I only picked up because I was traveling in non-English speaking countries, so my choices were limited, that turned out to be fantastic. (see: Dracula, The Thorn Birds, Vanity Fair, The Moonstone...) Recently, I've really loved Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and I've given up on Generation Debt just this week.

I don't think I knew you were at that Black Cat show, did I? Holy crap, Har Mar was FRIGHTENING! God, I'll never forget the way he yelled at that girl. So uncomfortable. But Ben's set was so great. He played such a good mix of old and new stuff!
