Just in time

Just in time for Colleen's wedding on Saturday, where I will be wearing a sleeveless dress, I get attacked by some kind of biting creature. I don't remember being bitten, but as you can see above, I was clearly attacked by something. That, or my arm has the mumps. Any quick-removal suggestions, or should I just make sure to have a wrap with me to cover it?

Backlog of Posts #3, or, Thank You, Sonia!

The final swap I need to post about! Sonia was my partner for the ParTea Swap, and she sent some great stuff! She made the tea towel and the tea cosy. There's biscotti, peppermint tea, and some other loose leaf teas that I haven't had a chance to try yet. I think some of them even are chocolate! A teacup and saucer, and an extra saucer. And, best of all, pretty napkins! Sonia couldn't possibly know this, but I hate paper napkins, and I only use cloth, even when I'm eating cereal or a snack. So these fit perfectally into my collection! She also wrapped everything very prettily, but I of course ripped off the paper before taking a photo. I'm impatient like that.

Backlog of Posts #2, or, Thank You, Nicole!

I suck. Nicole, my bookswap pal, sent me this fabulous bookswap package in May, and I am *just* now getting around to thanking her. Nicole, I'm sorry! I loved the package. It's an Indian theme, and she included the book Babyji, which I haven't yet read, a candle holder, chocolate, earrings, sticker jewlery that's shiny and pretty, and some Thai noodles. Awesome. Thank you so much, and I apologize for the delay in posting!

Thanks for all the great dinner ideas! I'll keep you posted as to what I decide to make - the dinner is on Thursday, so I've still got a couple days to decide.

In an attempt to have an adventure on the bus, I attempted to actually ride the bus this morning. Waiting at my stop, my bus drove right on past! (I was not the only person at the stop) Now. I'm sure he did this because another bus was already at the stop, letting people board, but that bus did not go all the way to the end of the line. I need an end-of-the-line bus.

I ended up getting on that bus anyway, and telling the driver I needed the bus that had just gone past. He did catch me up to the bus I needed. I asked that driver when I got on why he drove past, and he said, "well, I knew you would catch me." OK, um, well, I think it was pure luck... it did take 5 stops for me to catch back up.

I sent a complaint email to Metro today about this incident. I doubt I will hear back - the one time they did reply to my complaint email about something else, they told me thanks for requesting more signs in Spanish! Certainly not what I had written to them at all.

gosh, I don't know! This one is hard. I really, really love sock yarn. All kinds. I like sock yarn more than other yarns because mostly, a pair of socks takes the same amount of yarn, so you don't need to know the pattern before buying the yarn.

not really, no.
